Glovo names Reni Onafeko as new Nigeria country managing director

On-demand delivery platform Glovo has appointed Reni Onafeko as its Country Managing Director for Nigeria. Taking over from Lamide Akinola, Onafeko will drive the company's next expansion phase across key urban markets.

Global on-demand delivery platform Glovo has appointed Reni Onafeko as its new Country Managing Director for Nigeria. She succeeds Lamide Akinola, who stepped down after leading the company's Nigerian operations for over three years.

Executive Transition and Career Path Reni Onafeko previously served as Glovo Nigeria's Head of Growth and interim General Manager, overseeing operational activities since early 2026. Her background includes experience in strategy, finance, and consulting, having worked at Boston Consulting Group prior to joining Glovo.

Outgoing Managing Director Lamide Akinola joined Glovo in 2021 as Head of Q-Commerce for Sub-Saharan Africa before being promoted to Country Head on 1 July 2023. During her tenure, Akinola helped build the Nigerian business into an 80 million dollar operation and Glovo's fastest-growing market.
